6th Conference applications now closed.

by Chipo Chimhundu on Monday, May 9th, 2011
The applications to the 6th SAWomEng conference closed on Friday 6 May, 2011. Applications had been open since February 2011 and we were pleased to see applicants showing their enthusiasm by engaging in interactive discussions on our website.

SAWomEng would like to make a special mention of applicants who filled out the application timeously and did not wait for the last hour. The application required absolute dedication and allowed applicants to evaluate their commitment to the conference. We are excited about the applications we have received this year and that people responded very well to the technical project challenges.

Unfortunately, there are other applicants who also were very eager to attend the conference but perhaps found out when it was rather late to apply or go through the challenges. We still thank those who made an attempt to complete the application form and your interest in attending the conference is highly appreciated. We strongly encourage those who missed this opportunity to apply next year. However, there is still a chance to follow what is happening with this year’s conference right through the end by interacting on our website and participating in the technical project challenges. The challenges are still open and can be discussed on the website right until the end of the conference. We would love to hear from you!

To the applicants who applied for financial aid, it would be prudent of you to gather all supporting documentation you may deem relevant, should it be required of you upon selection.

The conference executive is excited about going through all the applications and giving our valued applicants feedback soon. We are just as excited as you are to find out who will be attending the conference, which is why we will ensure applicants will be notified of the outcome by 18 May 2011. Both prospective delegates and unsuccessful applicants will be contacted by this date, with the latter group being informed via email.

We wish you all the best!

Hi Ladies

To those that have been successful, CONGRATS :D! We look forward to welcoming you to Conference 2011. We have a jam-packed, fun-filled schedule for you... but remember, here at SAWomEng, we work hard to play hard! Please keep in mind the Technical Project. It would be wise to do some background reading prior to the conference!

To those that have been unsuccessful, please do not despair. We can only accept a limited number of delegates, so please apply next year if you are eligible :) There are
many ways to get involved in the organisation... one is the Networking function that takes place on Wed, July 13. Tickets are going for R150. Keep an eye on the website for more info. This is ideal if you are graduating this year and in the market for a job :)
