Saturday the 19 March, the Cape Town GirlEng team met for their first training workshop at UCT. The director of GirlEng, Hema Vallabh was also present for at the training session. The workshop was facilitated by Juanene Frydman, an executive coach and facilitator who was flown in from Johannesburg.

The workshop kicked off after 9am, the team was equipped with mentoring strategies/models and various self assessments were taken. The team is now prepared for the year ahead!

The first event will be on the 14th May 2011 at the University of Cape Town (Upper campus) and open to all grade 10-12 girls. At this session learners will be informed about the various options that exist in engineering, what the requirements are etc... Also they’ll be given a chance to hear from university students in the various disciplines. At this session application forms will be given out for future events as they are will be by invitation only.
