The 2011 UCT Science Day took place at Kensington High School with GirlEng making its first appearance at the event this year. Members of the GirlEng team present were Melvinia Chidi, Roseline Akita and Amulet Tshidi Matlala, visible in their bright pink hard hats behind the GirlEng stall. The aim was to introduce GirlEng to the high school girls present and inform them on the GirlEng Western Cape Information Session coming up soon on the 14th of May at UCT Upper campus. Girls visiting the GirlEng stand were invited to take comic photos in pink hard hats which were posted on the SAWomEng facebook site as well as provide their contact details in order to be kept posted on GirlEng events coming soon. All in all it was an informative and fun filled day with over 200 learners attending the event and GirlEng was glad to be a part of it!
