National Media and Marketing Director

3rd year BSc Chemical Engineering

Background education

I attended Pretoria High School for Girls and now pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Cape Town.
I am driven by a want to succeed beyond apparent limitations. Sadly there are still existing prejudices that impede our paths of progression as women. It is our duty to ensure that we are not sidelined but also stand at the forefront of development in the engineering industry. How is this possible? It starts first with defining what an engineering degree means to you. How you hope to be challenged and exactly and how that will influence your growth. We can only be taken seriously if we ourselves take us seriously. That is why organisations like SAWomEng are so significant. It is at this conference that one should aim to show just how capable one is. To showcase the many wonderful attributes that women have, to show how to think and help solve societal problems and to show that we, together as a nation, can work together to develop our beautiful nation’s masses on our journey to being an engineer. We need to celebrate every aspect of our lives and SAWomEng is a platform that encourages those principles.

Role in the organisation
As the National Media and Marketing Director it is my duty to ensure that the organisation gets publicity and is well advertised in the public.
